Hosted by Princeton University and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
The 2017 APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) are a set of regional conferences to be held January 13-15 at ten different locations around the US with the aim of encouraging young women to continue in physics. Princeton University, in conjunction with the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), will host the 2017 regional CUWiP covering the Mid-Atlantic States and Puerto Rico. Undergraduate physics majors are invited to attend to experience a professional conference that will feature talks by prominent female physicists, student research presentations, laboratory tours (including one of PPPL), a career fair, and workshops on topics including graduate school, careers in physics, and women in STEM. Students in attendance will have the opportunity to network with over 200 fellow undergraduate physicists as well as many leaders in academia and industry in an environment where all can share their experiences, advice, and ideas.
This conference is held at no cost to students aside from a $45 registration fee to offset the cost of food and lodging which are provided by the host site. Travel expenses are generally covered by the attendee’s home institution. We hope that you will join us for this year’s conference to showcase your own research, explore career opportunities, and connect with other women in the physics community!
