Travel and Accommodation

Getting to Princeton

Depending on how you’ll travel, here are some suggestions for getting to Princeton:

  • Car: The campus is located about a mile west of US Route 1. Follow signs from Route 1 to Alexander Road, or take exit 68 A for Princeton Pike off of I-295. From Friday evening through Sunday, visitors are permitted to park in most campus lots. If arriving before Friday evening, you can park in Lot 23 for free on weekdays. Metered street parking is also available around campus.
  • Train: The campus is very accessible by train. Take an Amtrak or NJ Transit to Princeton Junction station. Then, take “The Dinky”, a local train connecting Princeton Junction to the main Princeton campus.
  • Bus: If traveling from nearby in New Jersey, you may be able to find an NJ Transit bus to take you to Princeton.
  • Plane: The nearest airports are Newark Liberty (EWR), Philadelphia (PHL), John F. Kennedy (JFK), and La Guardia (LGA). The closest are EWR and PHL. If arriving at EWR, take the AirTrain to the NJ Transit station, and then take a train to Princeton Junction (on the route to Trenton). If arriving at PHL, take SEPTA to Trenton and transfer to NJ Transit to get to Princeton Junction. If arriving at JFK or LGA, make your way to Penn Station in NYC and then take the NJ Transit to Princeton Junction.

Cost

We aim to make CUWiP accessible to everyone. All meals and accommodation during the conference are organized and the costs are met by CUWiP. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation on Friday or Saturday night. Travel to the conference is usually paid for by your home department. In cases where your own department or other sources cannot cover the cost, there are funds available to provide support travel to CUWiP so no one has to miss out on CUWiP for financial reasons. In order to access those funds, please email cuwip@princeton.edu to request travel support.

Travel costs will typically be reimbursed after the conference. Before you book a plane ticket, or any other travel ticket costing more than $100, you must first email the cost and itinerary to cuwip@princeton.edu to receive advance permission prior to incurring the cost. Significant costs which are not pre-approved may not be reimbursed.
